About the American Hospital Dubai
The American Hospital Dubai is a 144-bed, acute care, general medical/surgical private hospital with a 60 physician multi-specialty group practice, designed to provide a high quality, American standard of healthcare to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of the people of Dubai, the UAE and the surrounding Gulf States. The American Hospital Dubai became the first hospital in the Middle East to be awarded JCI accreditation in May 2000 and successfully underwent further surveys by the JCI in 2003, 2006 and 2009 to maintain its accredited status.
The American Hospital Dubai has expanded to meet the demand for more personalized services, comfort and convenience, while broadening the services and deepening the level of expertise and care offered. In response to the strong increase in local and regional demand for its services, the hospital constructed a new state of the art Outpatient Clinic Building.
In addition to the new facilities and services, the hospital continues its ongoing physician recruitment plan, which will extend the number of American Board Certified or equivalent practicing physicians at the Hospital from 60 to 110 over the next two years.
The hospital’s new bed tower is currently rolling out new facilities and is due to complete before the end of 2010, when it will add an additional 240 beds, transforming the hospital into a 384-bed campus.

Barton Memorial Hospital is situated on the south shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe nearly 6,200 feet above sea level. Since opening in 1963, Barton Memorial Hospital has expanded its services to serve both its residents and the hundreds of thousands of visitors to Lake Tahoe. Today, Barton Health, a Joint Commission accredited hospital has over 140 board certified physicians on the medical staff serving 62 licensed acute care beds as well as an array of physician practices and outpatient facilities. The Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, a service of Barton Health, is a comprehensive center of excellence combining forces with the leading surgeons in Lake Tahoe region. The Center, an official medical provider and partner of the U.S. Ski, Snowboard and Freestyle teams, focuses on prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries including spine, joint replacement, sports medicine and rehabilitation. The Center is also home to the Barton Lake Tahoe Orthopedics Sports Medicine Fellowship – a nationally accredited fellowship program training surgeons from around the world. Patients experiencing musculoskeletal injuries can access Barton’s orthopedic expertise through the medical ski clinics at Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood and Sierra-at-Tahoe. In addition, Barton Urgent Care in Stateline, Nevada serves those who have non-emergent injuries and ailments. Tahoe Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, a Barton managed physician practice has office locations in California in South Lake Tahoe and in Nevada in Incline Village, Zephyr Cove, and Carson City.
Barton Memorial Hospital is also the first in its region to offer stellar women’s health and general surgery using the newest of da Vinci’s surgical robot, the da Vinci Si. Médica Sur is a health care institution that comprises diagnostic, medical attention, research, teaching and community service units. This project was conceived in 1982 by a group of Mexican physicians and health care professionals.
