Cristian Ferraris is Director of Organization, Development, Marketing and Life Sciences at Assolombarda, General Director of AIOP Lombardia and the Sanità Futura Foundation, and a Board Member of both FASI and FASI OPEN.

Born in Turin in 1974, he earned a Law degree from the University of Turin with a thesis in philosophy of law, having previously served as teaching assistant to Professor Enrico Nicolis De Robilant.

With a solid background at the intersection of business representation, healthcare, and public policy, is also a contract professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and the University of Milan, where he teaches “Private Health Consumption and Business Modeling.”

In 2004, he played a key role in establishing the Healthcare Group of Assolombarda, now one of Italy’s most prominent health industry networks, comprising over 700 companies across the life sciences value chain. The group promotes networking, research, policy development, and data-driven strategies.

He also carries out representation and consulting activities for the healthcare sector and leads international development projects for Lombardy’s private healthcare and social services system, with the goal of promoting its excellence on a global scale. In this context, he conceived and launched HealthLombardy.eu, the first Italian digital platform for the international promotion of a public-private healthcare ecosystem—developed through an integrated, industry-wide approach.

He is also the founder of the Silver Economy Network, an Assolombarda initiative focused on active aging and services for the senior population.

In 2023, he co-authored “Private Healthcare Consumption in Italy – Current Trends and Future Outlook” (Milano University Press) with Professor Federico Lega, offering an in-depth perspective on the evolving role of private health consumption within Italy’s universal healthcare system.

His core areas of expertise include healthcare economics and policy, comparative health systems, the internationalization of healthcare models, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC).
